3A/2A Conference 3 recap September 4, 2013
Forestview's Bishop Ford rumbled for the longest rushing play in 3A/2A Conference 3 this season in his game against Clover last week. Ford's team topped the Blue Eagles as he sprinted for 57 yards on the play and finished with 173 in all.
Fans got a thrill when Michael Dorsainvil and Jake Young connected against High Point Christian Academy. The longest such play in the league this season, the connection resulted in 65 yards.
Lake Norman Charter's dynamic duo of Dorsainvil and Neil Baugh proved to be unstoppable against the Cougars, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Dorsainvil threw for 263 yards and 2 touchdowns and Baugh had 100 yards receiving. Petey Fabian helped Lake Norman Charter's passing attack out by catching 3 balls for 68 yards.
Lake Norman Charter's dynamic duo of Dorsainvil and Baugh proved tough for High Point Christian Academy to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week.
Dorsainvil put up the best numbers in passing as Bob McKay's team defeated the Cougars.
Ford was the most successful running back in the league this week. Teammate Moe Neal added to the ground attack by rushing for 12 yards.
He was 13-22 with 2 interceptions.
Baugh was the best wideout in 3A/2A Conference 3 this week as Lake Norman Charter topped High Point Christian Academy.
Lake Norman Charter's Dorsainvil and Fabian have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Dorsainvil has thrown for 398 yards this season, while Fabian, a 6-foot-1 receiver, has 7 catches for 142 yards. Ford from Forestview leads the league in rushing with 352 yards.
North Gaston scaled the state rankings by moving to 223 from 252 this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Wildcats climbed the ranks as a result of topping East Rutherford 43-42.
