The Academy for Classical Education Gryphons won the last time they faced the Southwest Patriots, and things went their way on Tuesday too. Academy for Classical Education walked away with a 42-30 win over Southwest. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Academy for Classical Education.
Sara Rhett Farmer continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 29 points along with six rebounds and four steals. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last nine games she's played. Karlee Yates was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with nine rebounds.
Southwest's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Lonnasha Graddick, who scored 13 points, and Mohogany Tharpe who scored 11 points. That was a full 43.3% of Southwest's points, marking the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
The victory got Academy for Classical Education back to even at 7-7. As for Southwest, their loss dropped their record down to 5-5.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Academy for Classical Education will face off against Spencer at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Spencer focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 on Tuesday. As for Southwest, they will head out on the road to take on Central at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Central is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last six games.
