Union is 0-10 against Tygarts Valley since December of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Saturday. Even though Union has not done well against Harman recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. Union blew past Harman 65-30 at home. That looming 65-30 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Union yet this season.
Union found their leader in underclassman Braylon Ward, who scored 29 points along with five rebounds and two steals. Ward hasn't dropped below 18 points for four straight games. Josh Burdock was another key contributor, scoring 17 points along with four steals.
Meanwhile, Tygarts Valley didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Notre Dame on Tuesday, but they still walked away with a 58-53 victory.
Tygarts Valley found their leader in underclassman Jacob Wamsley, who scored 19 points along with six rebounds and two blocks. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Wamsley has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaden Moore, who scored 13 points along with eight rebounds.
Union's victory bumped their record up to 7-8. As for Tygarts Valley, their victory bumped their record up to 5-8.
Things could have been worse for Union, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 59-45 loss to Tygarts Valley in their previous meeting last Tuesday.
