The Bloomfield Bobcats will look to defend their home court on Saturday against the Piedra Vista Panthers at 4:00 p.m. Hopefully Bloomfield focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 20 on Thursday.
After soaring to 57 points the game before, Bloomfield were a bit more limited in their match. They took a serious blow against Farmington, falling 64-20. Bloomfield has struggled against Farmington recently, as their matchup on Thursday was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.
Bloomfield's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Andrew Florez, who scored six points along with seven rebounds and three blocks, and Sam Slivers who scored six points. That's the first time this season that Florez posted two or more blocks.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Bloomfield struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only an offensive rebound. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Piedra Vista posted their closest win yet this season on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 48-46 win over Miyamura. The win made it back-to-back wins for Piedra Vista.
Bloomfield's loss dropped their record down to 4-8. As for Piedra Vista, their win bumped their record up to 3-10.
Bloomfield was able to grind out a solid victory over Piedra Vista when the teams last played back in December of 2022, winning 56-44. Will Bloomfield repeat their success, or does Piedra Vista have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
