Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for the Osborne Cardinals, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They suffered a rough 42-17 loss at the hands of Mill Creek on Friday. Osborne was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 42-10.
Mill Creek got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Shane Throgmartin out in front who threw for 111 yards and three touchdowns. Jaiden Patterson also deserves a shout-out for his three touchdowns.
Osborne are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-4. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 8.5 points per game. As for Mill Creek, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 11-0.
Osborne does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Mill Creek will be playing at home against Peachtree Ridge at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Peachtree Ridge will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Georgia Rankings (they are ranked 33rd, while Mill Creek is ranked third).
