The Westran Hornets won the last time they faced the Salisbury Panthers, and things went their way on Friday too. Westran blew past Salisbury 35-14. The result was nothing new for Westran, who have now won three contests by 21 points or more so far this season.
Westran's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Korbin Perry, who rushed for 100 yards and a touchdown. Westran also got a significant boost from Jack Harlan, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 86 yards.
Salisbury's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Eli Jackson, who picked up 131 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Westran's victory bumped their record up to 7-2. As for Salisbury, they now have a losing record at 4-5.
After each having a week off, Westran and Putnam County will shake off the cobwebs and challenge one another at 7:00 p.m. on November 3rd. Putnam County is hoping to put an end to a five-game streak of away losses.
