Baseball Recap: Ponte Vedra Has No Trouble Against Fleming Island

Ponte Vedra hadn't done well against Fleming Island recently (they were 0-5 in their previous five matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Ponte Vedra Sharks blew past the Fleming Island Golden Eagles 8-1. For the Sharks, this counts as revenge for the 4-2 win the Golden Eagles walked away with the last time they faced one another back in March of 2024.

Ponte Vedra got a big performance out of Jack Brady, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-4. The dominant performance also gave Brady a new career-high in hits (three). Another player making a difference was Cole Rambler, who scored two runs while going 1-for-3.

Ponte Vedra now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Fleming Island, their defeat was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Ponte Vedra will face off against Riverside at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Ponte Vedra is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.8 runs per game this season. As for Fleming Island, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Orange Park at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
