In what's become a running theme this season, the Bishop's Knights gave their fans yet another huge victory on Tuesday. They blew past St. Joseph Academy 62-38. The victory was familiar territory for Bishop's who now have three in a row.
Bishop's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Moana Peterson, who scored 23 points. Peterson continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Ayla Johnson was another key contributor, scoring 22 points.
St. Joseph Academy's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Luciana Aguilar, who scored 18 points along with eight rebounds and two steals, and Pamela Torres who scored 13 points along with six rebounds. That was a full 47.4% of St. Joseph Academy's points, marking the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Bishop's pushed their record up to 17-3 with that victory, which was their eighth straight on the road. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.9 points per game. As for St. Joseph Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 10-12.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bishop's will take on La Jolla Country Day at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. La Jolla Country Day presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Bishop's in California (La Jolla Country Day is ranked 28th, while Bishop's is ranked 153rd). As for St. Joseph Academy, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Classical Academy at 6:00 p.m. Classical Academy is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak.
