Football Recap: Northview Takes a Loss

After flying high against San Dimas last Friday, Northview came back down to earth. The Vikings were just a hair shy of victory on Friday and fell 21-20 to the Alta Loma Braves. The matchup was a 14-14 toss-up at halftime, but the Vikings couldn't quite close it out.

Although Northview took the loss, they still got scores from Isaiah Lucero, Jaishon Bledsoe, and Dominic Munoz.

Don't try to pin the team's loss on the defense: they kept the trenches locked down and allowed a mere 3.5 yards per carry. The team can thank Jacob Cruz for the heroic effort on defense: he. Northview's ground attack was stronger, having averaged 4.9.

Northview didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Lucero and Bledsoe. Northview got some further help from Rudy Velazquez: he picked up a sack and made 17 total tackles.

With the loss, Northview broke their six-game winning streak and moved their record to 7-2. As for Alta Loma, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 7-2.
