Football Recap: Mammoth Piles Up the Points Against Trona

Mammoth entered their tilt with Trona on Friday with five consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with six. They blew past the Tornadoes, posting a 76-8 victory. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Huskies also won the last time the pair played back in October of 2024.

Mammoth had a senior duo take command as Eli Ericson rushed for 111 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only nine carries and DJ Gray picked up 105 receiving yards and three TDs.

Mammoth was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 219 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 170 rushing yards in four consecutive contests.

Special teams was a major factor in the game for Mammoth, racking up 14 points in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Gray, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.

Mammoth's win bumped their record up to 7-1. As for Trona, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-2.

Mammoth wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 55-8 victory against Mojave on the 24th. As for Trona, they have also already played their next matchup, a 64-42 win against Lone Pine on the 25th.
