After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Wayne County, the Greene County Wildcats were happy to have found some success on Monday. They managed a 57-51 win over Richton. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Greene County also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2022.
Greene County found their leader in underclassman Rakhiya Moody, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 15 rebounds. The game was Moody's eighth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kelis Franks, who scored 8 points along with 6 rebounds.
Greene County's victory bumped their record up to 5-3. As for Richton, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-6.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Greene County won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against St. Martin at 6:00 p.m. on December 5th. As for Richton, they will head out on the road to face off against East Central at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
