After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Oneida, the Austin-East Roadrunners were happy to have found some success on Friday. They breezed by Eagleton College & Career Academy at home to the tune of 62-26. That's another feather in the cap for Austin-East, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Austin-East's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Ja'onna Witt led the charge by scoring 21 points along with seven rebounds and seven steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Witt has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Michala Stevenson, who scored ten points along with eight steals and five rebounds.
Austin-East's victory bumped their record up to 9-11. As for Eagleton College & Career Academy, they are on a 13-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-14.
Austin-East will be playing in front of their home fans against Gatlinburg-Pittman at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Eagleton College & Career Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
