The Granada Hills Charter Highlanders will head out on the road to square off against the El Camino Real Royals at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
El Camino Real will be up against a hot Granada Hills Charter team: the squad just extended their winning streak to four. The Highlanders' pitchers stepped up to hand Cleveland a 15-0 shutout on Wednesday.
April Anaya looked comfortable as she pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Lainey Brown, who fired off two home runs, six RBI, and three runs while going 3-for-4. Those two home runs gave her a new career-high. Elysse Diaz was another key player, scoring three runs while going 3-for-4.
Granada Hills Charter kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in four consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask El Camino Real). They put the hurt on Chatsworth with a sharp 20-0 win on Wednesday. The victory continues a trend for the Royals in their matchups with the Chancellors: they've now won eight in a row.
Sarah Delgado was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, six RBI, and three runs. Another player making a difference was Nerissa Winokur, who went 2-for-4 with two triples, three runs, and two RBI.
Granada Hills Charter's win was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 13-2. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.0 runs over those games. As for El Camino Real, they now have a winning record of 9-8.
Friday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Granada Hills Charter hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .393. However, it's not like El Camino Real struggles in that department as they've averaged .365. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Granada Hills Charter beat El Camino Real 6-1 when the teams last played back in May of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Highlanders since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
