Northeastern Athletic recap Oct. 30, 2012
Grand Valley extended the longest winning streak in Northeastern Athletic this week by beating Ledgemont, 21-6. The victory was the fifth in a row for the team.
Chalker and Mathews played the most hotly contested game in the league this week, with Chalker eventually emerging with a 24-18 victory. Jordan Dickey ran for 135 yards in the win.
Dillon Nezbith put up the best numbers through the air as the Wildcats defeated the Mustangs. He finished with a total of one completions for four yards and one touchdown. Nezbith's favorite target this week was Justin Len, who caught two passes for 24 yards.
Tim Cross was the best wideout in the league this week as Pymatuning Valley beat Lutheran East. Cross tallied two receptions for 47 yards. Cody Ellis helped Pymatuning Valley's passing attack out by catching one ball for 10 yards.
Quintin Ratliff provided a threat through the air and on the ground as the Lakers bested the Falcons. He completed three passes for 57 yards and also ran for 107 yards.
Pymatuning Valley's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Lakers feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Ratliff has thrown for 700 yards and five touchdowns this season, while Cross has 43 catches for 660 yards. Ratliff also leads the league in rushing with 825 yards.
Grand Valley made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 11,136 from 11,670. They were able to move up in the ranks after a 21-6 victory over the Redskins last week.
