Elk County Catholic's Hank Cappiello rumbled for the longest rushing play in Allegheny Mountain - Southern this season in his game against Brockway last week. Cappiello ran for 701 yards on the play and finished with 74 on the day as his team lost to the Rovers.
Brockway extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Elk County Catholic, 44-22. The victory was the seventh in a row for Mike Pisarchick's team.
Curwensville's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Hunter McCracken threw for 145 and one touchdown and Jordan Russell had 93 yards receiving. On the ground Zach Tibbins chipped in 171 yards. Austin Jacobson helped Curwensville's passing attack out by catching one ball for 28 yards.
On the ground, the Golden Tide's Tibbins has rushed for 997 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Russell. The Curwensville star has 34 catches for 525 yards.
Tibbins of the Curwensville is only three yards short of surpassing 1,000 rushing yards for the season.
Two of the top units in Allegheny Mountain - Southern will face off this week when Andy Evanko's team takes on the Crusaders. The Golden Tide's offense has racked up 288 points this season, earning them the top spot in the league, while Elk County Catholic has allowed only 85 on the year.
