On Friday, Shields beat Luverne 60-52.
Shields' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jalance Kimbrough led the charge by scoring 16 points. The game was Kimbrough's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Dante Leffall, who scored 14 points along with six assists.
Shields now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Luverne, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-3.
Shields' road trip will continue as they head out to face Southside at 7:00 p.m. on December 21st. Luverne will be home for the holidays to greet Georgiana at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Georgiana presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Luverne in Alabama (Georgiana is ranked 46th, while Luverne is ranked 187th).
