Given Tri County's advantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 37th, while Thayer Central is ranked 129th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Caden Bales continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 20 points and ten rebounds. He continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Drew Siems, who scored eight points.
Despite the loss, Thayer Central still got an impressive performance from Sam Souerdyke, who scored 25 points along with eight rebounds and five steals. Souerdyke has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last seven times he's played. Laken Wiedel was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
Tri County's win was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-3. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.0 points per game. As for Thayer Central, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-6.
Tri County will be playing at home against Lourdes Central Catholic at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Thayer Central, they will head out on the road to challenge Centennial at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Centennial focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 on Tuesday.
