The Morro Bay Pirates will head out on the road to challenge the Templeton Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Morro Bay is no doubt hoping to put an end to a five-game streak of away losses.
Morro Bay scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They blew past Orcutt Academy 6-2. Morro Bay's offense finally found a way to get into gear: the high-octane performance was a 180-degree turn from their last three games.
They hit Orcutt Academy with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from
Emily Giodorno (3),
Pearl Wishon,
Graceyn Costa, and
Julieana Gonzalez.
Meanwhile, Templeton's last contest on Tuesday was all defense as neither team scored a goal. They and Lompoc finished up on equal footing with a 0-0 draw. The result (or lack thereof) was the first time Templeton has been dealt a draw since back in December of 2023.
Morro Bay's win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-18-1. Templeton's draw makes their record 5-11-3 on the season.
Morro Bay came up short against Templeton in their previous meeting back in January, falling 4-2. Can Morro Bay avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
