The Leadore Mustangs lost against the Salmon Savages back in December of 2018, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. Leadore had to suffer through a rough 73-44 loss at the hands of Salmon. Leadore was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 40-19.
Leadore's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Taylor Ayers, who scored 18 points along with 8 rebounds and 4 steals. Ayers scored a full 40.9% of Leadore's points, the second time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Dane Piippo, who scored 12 points along with 5 rebounds.
Leadore bumped their record down to 1-4 with that defeat, which was their third straight at home. As for Salmon, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Leadore will be home for the holidays to greet Ririe at 6:30 p.m. on December 15th. Salmon will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Watersprings at 7:00 p.m. on December 18th.
