The Papillion-LaVista Monarchs will be taking part in a tournament against the Lincoln Southeast Knights at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The timing is sure in Papillion-LaVista's favor as the team sits on four straight wins at home while Lincoln Southeast has been banged up by four consecutive losses on the road.
Papillion-LaVista's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. Everything went their way against Burke as they made off with a 10-0 victory. That ten run margin sets a new team best for the Monarchs this season.

Landyn Albrecht was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out seven over six innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Papillion-LaVista is undefeated when he allows at most two earned runs, but 4-5 otherwise. Albrecht was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. Those two hits gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, Evan Eddie was incredible, scoring a run and stealing three bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. What's more, he posted two hits, the most he's had over his last 11 matchups. Another player making a difference was Isaac Pamaran, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3.
Papillion-LaVista always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .545. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Lincoln Southeast). They skirted past Gretna East 9-8. The win was some much needed relief for the Knights as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.
Lincoln Southeast's victory was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Jayden Kirk, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3. Brooks Gordon was another, scoring a run while going 1-for-4.
Lincoln Southeast's win bumped their record up to 3-8. As for Papillion-LaVista, their victory bumped their record up to 7-5.
Papillion-LaVista came out on top in a nail-biter against Lincoln Southeast when the teams last played last Friday, sneaking past 4-3. Do the Monarchs have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Knights turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
