The Middle College Bulldogs entered their tilt with the Brighton Cardinals with eight consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with nine. Middle College really took it to Brighton for the full four quarters, racking up a 65-34 win at home. Middle College's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Middle College found their leader in underclassman Gabrielle Rudd , who dropped a double-double on 31 points and 14 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Kiya Mell , who scored 13 points along with eight steals and five assists.
Despite the loss, Brighton saw an underclassman step up: Jayla Jones scored 18 points.
Middle College's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-1. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.7 points per game. As for Brighton, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-7.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Middle College won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Soulsville at 6:00 p.m. on December 12th. Soulsville comes in on a streak of failing to score more than nine points in their last three games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse. Brighton will be home for the holidays to greet Harding Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
