Even though the Grace Davis Spartans scored an imposing 57 points on Monday, the Ceres Bulldogs still came out on top. Ceres came out on top in a nail-biter against Grace Davis and snuck past 60-57. The win made it back-to-back wins for Ceres.
Ceres' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Carey Mastin led the charge by dropping a double-double on 11 points and 11 assists. Mastin has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last six times he's played. AJ Brown was another key contributor, scoring 17 points along with two steals.
Ceres has been performing well recently as they've won 12 of their last 15 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 17-9 record this season. As for Grace Davis, they are on a eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-16.
Ceres will head out on the road to face off against Mountain House at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday. One thing working in Mountain House's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last 12 matches. Grace Davis does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
