Ziaire Williams, Sierra Canyon (28-4) rose above a crowded field in the Southern Section Open Division playoffs. The Trailblazers beat Mater Dei 59-48 in the final.
Sierra Canyon has been followed intensely by national media this season with the arrival of freshman

But the two-time defending state champions have performed admirably under the microscope, beating teams from seven states outside of California and winning 10 of their last 11 down the stretch.
Harvard-Westlake (25-6) showed what it's made of by beating Centennial (Corona) – who reached as high as No. 6 in the national rankings this season – twice in the last three weeks.
Brase Dottin scored 22 points and
Mason Hooks added 19 on Wednesday in Harvard-Westlake's 63-55 win over Centennial in the quarterfinals.
