The Pinole Valley Spartans will head out on the road to square off against the Analy Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Pinole Valley focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 on Friday.
Pinole Valley posted their closest victory yet this season on Friday. They skirted past De Anza 59-57. 59 seems to be a good number for Pinole Valley as the squad scooped up a victory with the same number of points in their previous game.
Pinole Valley's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Jaylin Reed, who scored 17 points along with three blocks and two steals, and Chriseanie Nealy, who scored 21 points along with five rebounds and three steals. Nealy is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last seven games he's played. Another player making a difference was Romyn Waugh, who scored nine points along with six rebounds.
Meanwhile, Analy came up short against Santa Rosa on Thursday and fell 59-48. Analy has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
The victory makes it two in a row for Pinole Valley and bumps their season record up to 9-10. As for Analy, their loss dropped their record down to 8-11.
Pinole Valley beat Analy 53-41 in their previous meeting back in December of 2023. Will Pinole Valley repeat their success, or does Analy have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
