Caldwell Academy extended their losing streak to three on Thursday, dropping them down to 4-7. They lost 11-1 to the Greensboro Day School Bengal Tigers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bengal Tigers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 9-3 on Tuesday.

Jackson Wilson put in work no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing 4.2 innings while giving up just two earned (and five unearned) runs off four hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. That double was his first of the season.
As for Greensboro Day School, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-6. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four contests by six runs or more this season.
Like Caldwell Academy, Greensboro Day School also got a great game from a two-way player: Prince Janney. On the mound, he struck out six batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Greensboro Day School is 2-1 when Janney allows one or fewer earned runs, but 2-5 otherwise. Janney was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one double.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Nick Salas, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases and three runs. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 1.1 stolen bases per game. Another player making a difference was Chris Skerlak, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs.
Coming up, Caldwell Academy will take on Triad Baptist Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Titans' pitching crew has only allowed four runs per game this season, so the Eagles' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Greensboro Day School, they will square off against Fayetteville Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
