For the first time this season, Pewitt will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. They will venture away from home to challenge the McLeod Longhorns at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Pewitt will bounce into Tuesday's matchup after beating Redwater, who they had gone 0-9 against in their nine prior meetings. The Brahmas blew past the Dragons 13-2 last Saturday. The Brahmas not only won last Saturday, but they posted their biggest win since February 22, 2025 (when they won 18-0).
Pewitt let Kilei Jones and Ryleigh Denmon run wild. Jones went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one run, while Denmon went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most hits Jones has posted since back in February of 2025. The team also got some help courtesy of Mckensi Jackson, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs.
Pewitt always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .655. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Redwater only posted an OBP of .385.
Meanwhile, McLeod beat New Boston 6-2 on Saturday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Longhorns.
Anna Dempsey was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Madison Blair, who earned two runs and two stolen bases. Another player making a difference was Brynn Foster, who got on base in two of her three plate appearances with two runs.
The victory got Pewitt back to even at 1-1. As for McLeod, their record is now 4-2-2.
Pewitt came out on top in a nail-biter against McLeod in their previous matchup back in March of 2025, sneaking past 22-21. Do the Brahmas have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Longhorns turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
