The Frankton Eagles typically have all the answers at home, but on Tuesday the Yorktown Tigers proved too difficult a challenge. In a tight matchup that could have gone either way, they made off with a 47-46 victory over the Eagles. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Yorktown also won the last time the pair played back in February of 2023.
Yorktown got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Addy Barnes out in front who scored 14 points along with two steals. Lilly Sylvester was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with six rebounds.
Yorktown is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-8 record this season. As for Frankton, their loss dropped their record down to 13-7.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Yorktown on the road again on Friday and play against New Castle at 7:30 p.m. on January 19th. New Castle is coming into the matchup on a six-game losing streak. As for Frankton, they will head out on the road to square off against Blackford at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Blackford focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 on Tuesday.
