Grove City took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Wednesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Canal Winchester Indians 74-43. The Greyhounds pushed the score to 55-28 by the end of the third, a deficit the Indians had little chance of recovering from.
Leading Grove City to victory were Jacob Saxton and Jairdan Tolliver. Saxton shot 47% from the field on his way to 18 points, while Tolliver went 6-for-9 to rack up 12 points along with five rebounds and four steals. Those five boards gave Tolliver a new career-high. Carson Stickley was another key player, putting up five points and eight rebounds.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Grove City will square off against St. Charles at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Canal Winchester, they will challenge Worthington Kilbourne at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
