The MaxPreps All Sac-Joaquin Section Girls Basketball Team for the 2025–26 season has arrived.
Selections were based on several factors including personal observation, individual league honors, statistical achievements and playoff success.
PLAYER OF THE YEARLauren Harris, Sr., Faith Christian (Yuba City)Finished a storybook four-year varsity career as the all-time leader in career 3-pointers made with 742. She also finished as the section's all-time leading scorer with 3,578 points, which is also good for third on California's scoring list. Harris helped Faith Christian, a school with a high school enrollment of 52, to three section titles, two NorCal crowns and a state championship to close her career.
JUNIOR OF THE YEARKori Rogers,
St. Mary's (Stockton)The dynamic guard helped continue the rich tradition of winning championships at St. Mary's with 11.1 points, 3.2 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 2.1 steals per game after missing a year and a half due to a torn ACL.
SOPHOMORE OF THE YEARLorelei Nachman,
DavisThe 5-foot-5 guard averaged 20.1 points per game and made the Blue Devils competitive in the Sierra Foothill League. She also posted 5.7 rebounds, 3.9 assists, 3.0 steals while going over 1,000 career points after just two seasons. Her 110 3-pointers were second in the section to Harris.
FRESHMAN OF THE YEARDylan Horton,
St. Mary'sThe 6-1 post led a storied Rams program in scoring as a freshman at 12.8 points per game. That included a 17-point, six-rebound performance in helping them capture a record 23rd section championship at Golden 1 Center.
COACH OF THE YEARShiloh Sorbello, Woodland Christian (Woodland)The Cardinals fell short of their goal in the section playoffs over the past two seasons but responded in the biggest way, capturing back-to-back CIF state titles. Sorbello and company became just the fourth Sac-Joaquin Section team to repeat at the state level, joining St. Mary's, Grant, Colfax and West Campus.
FIRST TEAMPresley Berry, Sr., Faith ChristianThe Concordia commit averaged 17.8 points and 5.4 rebounds per game for the state champion Lions while also surpassing career totals of 2,000 points and 1,000 rebounds.
Brookelyn Dunkle, Jr., Placer (Auburn)A two-time Foothill Valley League MVP, Dunkle helped the Hillgals to their first section crown since 1990 with 14.7 points, 3.1 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 2.1 steals.
Aynya Hardy, Fr., St. Mary'sWas huge in the Division I section title game with a game-high 21 points, nine assists and four steals.
Leah Harris, Jr., Oak Ridge (El Dorado Hills)Named the Sierra Foothill League after posting 17.8 points, 5.6 rebounds and 1.9 steals per game and leading the Trojans to a 23-8 record.
Callia Johnson, Fr., AntelopeAn instant impact player for the Titans, Johnson was named the Metro League MVP after a 25-6 campaign.
Naomi Johnson, Sr., West Campus (Sacramento)Led the D-IV champion Warriors with 22.4 points per game while adding 7.2 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 5.0 steals. She scored 30 in the section championship game.
Loismary Justice, Jr., West CampusA dominant presence in the paint, she averaged a double-double for the second straight year with 16.0 points and 14.5 rebounds per game.
Olivia Novi, Jr., Christian Brothers (Sacramento)The Falcons' sharpshooter upped her scoring average by nearly four points per game once the section postseason hit, finishing at 17.8 points, 4.0 rebounds, 2.8 assists, 3.3 steals per game for the Division II champions.
Londyn Odom, So., AntelopeNumbers were down a bit from her freshman year, but Odom can do everything for the youthfully strong Titans.
Joy Omishakin, Sr., Christian BrothersThe senior leader for the Division II champion Falcons averaged 18.3 points, 7.1 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 4.9 steals per game.
Madeline Poe, Jr., Del Oro (Loomis)At 21.2 points per game, Poe upped her scoring average from last year by nearly 15 points. Helped Del Oro to its most wins in a season since 2011.
Shakara Porter, Sr., LathropThe senior leader for the 33-2 Spartans was the Western Athletic Conference MVP with 11.2 points, 7.8 rebounds and 3.4 steals per night.
Evelini Smith, Sr., St. Mary'sThe Oregon State commit posted 12.4 points, 7.5 rebounds and 1.2 assists for the D-I champion Rams.
Haley Smith, Sr., Liberty Ranch (Galt)The Hawks' all-time leading scorer and rebounder with 2,199 points and 1,053 boards. Finished her senior season at 18.3 points and 8.2 rebounds per game.
Daisy Throckmorton, Sr., McClatchy (Sacramento)The California Flag Football Player of the Year in the fall, Throckmorton helped McClatchy return to the Division I section championship game with 16.6 points, 7.7 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game.
