North Judson-San Pierre had lost three straight at home, but on Saturday they dropped down to 12-11-1 to make it four. They came up short against the Culver Community Cavaliers, falling 8-2. The Bluejays were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Cavaliers earlier this season, when they won 8-1.

Ayson Harper put in work while hitting and pitching. He tossed 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Furthermore, he didn't allow a single walk, the first time he has blanked an opponent over his last eight matchups. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played.
Harper wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Brody Bridegroom, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one double.
As for Culver Community, they moved to 4-11 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak. They not only won on Saturday, but they posted their biggest win since May 1st (when they won 18-8).
On Culver Community's side, Jonas McCuen spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on five hits and racked up 15 Ks.
On the hitting side, Caleb McCuen was incredible, going 4-for-5 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one double. He is becoming a predictor of Culver Community's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 4-2 (and 0-9 when he doesn't). Kael Buschman was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.
Coming up, North Judson-San Pierre will take on Culver Academies at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Culver Community, they will square off against Pioneer at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Panthers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.32 runs per game on average), something the Cavaliers will no doubt try to take advantage of.
