4A Region I District 2 recap October 1, 2013
Eastlake scaled the state rankings by moving to 509 from 654 this week, the biggest jump in 4A Region I District 2. The Falcons were able to move up by beating Hanks 44-13.
Horizon was the team that made the biggest jump in the rankings, moving from eighth to sixth in the league.
DAVID ARMENDARIZ threw for 275 yards and 3 touchdowns. He was 13-20 with 0 interception.
Victor Gonzalez was the most successful running back in the league this week. He ran for 113 yards on 18 carries as Ysleta beat Parkland. Justin Maese also contributed to the rushing game with 104 yards on the ground.
At the moment, the Knights are in seventh, while the Indians are in second.
Ysleta took down San Elizario 50-3 last week, the largest margin of any game. Maese threw for 125 yards and ran for 104 yards in the win.
