The Channelview Falcons will look to defend their home court on Saturday against the Sam Rayburn Texans at 1:00 p.m. Channelview has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 1.
Channelview suffered their biggest loss since November 9, 2023 on Saturday. They were dealt a 79-33 defeat at the hands of Pasadena Memorial. Channelview has not had much luck with Pasadena Memorial recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Meanwhile, Sam Rayburn struggled with assists on Wednesday (Pasadena Memorial had nine more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Sam Rayburn was the victim of a tough 72-48 defeat at the hands of Pasadena Memorial. While losing is never fun, Sam Rayburn can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1024th, while Pasadena Memorial is ranked 478th).
Sam Rayburn's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Kimari Mikell, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 12 rebounds, and Kaylee Montelongo who scored six points along with four steals. Another player making a difference was BreAnn Figgs, who scored two points along with six rebounds.
Channelview bumped their record down to 2-13 with that loss, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Sam Rayburn, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 6-14.
