The Manchester Squires and the Fort Wayne Bishop Luers Knights squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but sadly the Manchester Squires had to settle for second. Manchester was dealt a 42-0 defeat at the hands of Fort Wayne Bishop Luers. While losing is never fun, Manchester can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana football rankings (they are ranked 245th, while Fort Wayne Bishop Luers is ranked 88th).
Giovanny Jimenez was the offensive standout of the match as he rushed for 103 yards and three touchdowns on only 11 carries. Daveon Surry also deserves a mention for his punt return touchdown.
Manchester's defeat dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Fort Wayne Bishop Luers, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 10-3.
Manchester does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Fort Wayne Bishop Luers will be playing in front of their home fans against Bluffton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Bluffton is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
