The Crusaders came out on top against Del Lago Academy by a score of 3-1 for which the team can thank Ambuul, who had 13 digs, two blocks, and two aces. He is on a roll when it comes to aces, as he's now served two or more in each of the last four games he's played.
St. Joseph Academy was especially dominant in the third set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 24-26, 25-12, 25-22.
Meanwhile, Calvin Christian beat Army-Navy 3-1 on Thursday.
Calvin Christian had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 22-25, 25-21, 25-18, 25-18.
St. Joseph Academy's win bumped their record up to 6-4. As for Calvin Christian, their victory ended an eight-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-11.
St. Joseph Academy was able to grind out a solid win over Calvin Christian in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, winning 3-1.
