The Pinewood Prep Panthers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven games by 21 points or more this season. They claimed a resounding 61-32 win over St. John's Christian Academy at home. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 36-8.
Pinewood Prep found their leader in underclassman Jonathan Slawson, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten assists. That's the first time this season that Slawson posted eight or more assists. Jayden Alexander was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
Pinewood Prep pushed their record up to 15-6 with that win, which was their fifth straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.8 points per game. As for St. John's Christian Academy, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-9.
Pinewood Prep will be playing in front of their home fans against First Baptist School at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for St. John's Christian Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against Calhoun Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
