Asheville has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will square off against the T.C. Roberson Rams at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Even though Asheville has not done well against the Rockets recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Asheville snuck past the Rockets with a 48-42 victory. The victory was all the more spectacular given Asheville's disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 342nd, while the Rockets are ranked 155th).
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Asheville to victory, but perhaps none more so than Aidan Shaw, who scored nine points along with two steals. Another player making a difference was Kendrick Carter, who scored seven points along with eight rebounds and three blocks.
Meanwhile, T.C. Roberson entered their tilt with the Jets with seven consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with eight. T.C. Roberson walked away with a 56-44 win over the Jets on Friday.
Asheville's win bumped their record up to 8-10. As for T.C. Roberson, their victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-7.
Asheville came up short against the Rams when the teams last played back in January, falling 45-33. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of T.C. Roberson's Max McDowell, who scored 14 points along with two steals. Now that Asheville knows the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time?
