The Jefferson Panthers had to hit the road for their first game and sadly it wasn't the result they were hoping for. The contest between Jefferson and Columbus wasn't particularly close, with Jefferson falling 63-44. Jefferson has not had much luck with Columbus recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Despite the defeat, Jefferson saw an underclassman step up: Ryian Eveland dropped a double-double on 19 points and 14 rebounds. Mackenzie Layng was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with 5 rebounds and 3 steals.
Jefferson's defeat dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Columbus, their win bumped their record up to 1-0.
Jefferson will square off against Sweet Grass County at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. Columbus does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
