In what's become a running theme this season, the Frederick Golden Eagles gave their fans yet another huge win on Saturday. They really took it to Northridge for the full four quarters, racking up a 80-51 win on the road. With Frederick ahead 42-19 at the half, the game was all but over already.
Frederick's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Ian Buffington, who scored 13 points along with nine rebounds. That's the first time this season that Buffington pulled down eight or more rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Zach Burton, who scored 13 points along with two steals.
Despite the defeat, Northridge had strong showings from Amadrick Woods, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds, and Louis Pisano, who scored 21 points along with five assists and five rebounds. Lincoln Lyons was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with eight rebounds.
Frederick is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a massive bump to their 6-5 record this season. As for Northridge, they bumped their record down to 3-7 with that loss, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season.
Frederick will head out on the road to face off against Skyline at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Skyline is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak. As for Northridge, they will be playing at home against Riverdale Ridge at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Riverdale Ridge is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last seven games.
