Sahuaro (Tucson, Ariz.) didn't let up as Saturday's game came to a close, scoring seven in the fourth quarter to seal a 37-10 victory over
Sunnyside (Tucson, Ariz.).
After taking the lead on a touchdown in the first quarter, the Cougars led 23-4 at the half.
Sahuaro saw its 19-point halftime lead decrease to 18 entering the fourth.
Sunnyside's only touchdown came on a 7-yard run by
Bobby Rodriguez in the third quarter.
The Cougars had given up an average of 16.8 points prior to the contest. Sunnyside's 10 points were well below their season average of 25.3 per game.
The loss comes after Sunnyside defeated Desert View 34-27 last week.
Sunnyside (5-4) will play a II Section II game against Buena next week, while Sahuaro (8-1) will take on Cienega also in a II Section II game.
