The McKenzie Tigers can finally bid farewell to their five-game losing streak thanks to their game on Monday. The stars were shining brightly for them in a 60-41 victory over Straughn. This was payback for McKenzie, who suffered a 52-43 defeat the last time these two teams met.
McKenzie got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Jaylen Mcmillian out in front who scored 20 points along with seven rebounds. That makes it six consecutive games in which Mcmillian has scored at least 25% of McKenzie's points. Another player making a difference was Quay Jackson, who scored 12 points along with nine rebounds and six assists.
McKenzie's win bumped their record up to 4-5. As for Straughn, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-7.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. McKenzie will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Georgiana at 7:00 p.m. on January 5, 2024. Straughn won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Ariton at 3:30 p.m. on December 19th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Alabama (Ariton is ranked 196th, while Straughn is ranked 186th).
