Calvary Christian and Land O' Lakes are an even 3-3 against one another since February of 2020, but likely not for long. Morgan Spinner spent all 8.2 innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five earned (and three unearned) runs on nine hits and racked up nine Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Finnley Kadjevich and Braylee Rano stepped up to the plate in a big way. Kadjevich went 2-for-5 with two RBI, one run, and one double, while Rano got on base in four of her five plate appearances with one stolen base and one run. Ashlyn Johnson was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
Meanwhile, Land O' Lakes narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past South Lake 5-4. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Gators.
Land O' Lakes saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Miyah Davis, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Those two stolen bases gave Davis a new career-high.
Land O' Lakes' win bumped their record up to 7-2. As for Calvary Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-3.
Thursday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Calvary Christian hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .314. However, it's not like Land O' Lakes struggles in that department as they've averaged .331. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Calvary Christian got the 'W' in their previous matchup back in April of 2025 against Land O' Lakes by a conclusive 12-2 score. Will the Warriors repeat their success, or do the Gators have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
