The Lucerne Valley Mustangs scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They blew past Victor Valley Christian 55-15 on the road. Lucerne Valley has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six matches by 20 points or more this season.
Lucerne Valley got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Amaya Kelly out in front who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 14 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Kelly has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Chloe Evans, who scored nine points along with nine steals and five assists.
Lucerne Valley pushed their record up to 11-6 with that victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Victor Valley Christian, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-4.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lucerne Valley will take on Academy of Careers & Exploration at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Academy of Careers & Exploration focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 49 on Friday. As for Victor Valley Christian, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Apple Valley Christian at 5:30 p.m. Apple Valley Christian comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 16 points in their last five games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
