They pulled ahead with a 16-15 photo finish over Green Level. Given Apex Friendship's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina football rankings (they are ranked 84th, while Green Level is ranked 258th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
When it comes to explaining why Green Level lost, one person who can't be blamed is Gavin Jones. Despite the final result, he rushed for 96 yards and two touchdowns on only ten carries.
Apex Friendship's victory bumped their record up to 8-2. As for Green Level, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-8.
Apex Friendship will look to defend their home field on Friday against Southeast Raleigh at 7:00 p.m. Green Level does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
