The Gibsland-Coleman Bulldogs posted their biggest win yet this season on Tuesday. They claimed a resounding 63-26 victory over Summerfield on the road. Given Gibsland-Coleman's advantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 131st, while Summerfield is ranked 343rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
DeAvery Durham continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 19 points along with seven rebounds and five assists. He hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Demarquis Durham, who scored 14 points along with nine rebounds and three steals.
Gibsland-Coleman's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 11-9. As for Summerfield, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-19.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Gibsland-Coleman's road trip will continue as they head out to face Family Community Christian at 6:00 p.m. on January 26th. Family Community Christian is out to stop a eight-game streak of losses at home. As for Summerfield, they will head out on the road to take on Claiborne Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Claiborne Christian has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
