Ysleta blew Burges out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Friday Burges got their revenge. Ysleta fell just short of Burges by a score of 10-8. The Indians just can't catch a break and have now endured three defeats in a row.
Cienna Hernandez was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. Another player making a difference was Emma Dominguez, who scored two runs while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.
Meanwhile, Organ Mountain made easy work of Cleveland on Saturday and carried off an 8-1 victory. The result was nothing new for the Knights, who have now won three matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.
Hannah Justus made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. That's the fewest hits she has allowed since back in April of 2024. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Leah Melero, who fired off two home runs and five RBI while going 3-for-4. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in home runs. Emily Lucero was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.
Organ Mountain kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits every time they've taken the field this season.
Ysleta's loss dropped their record down to 5-10-1. As for Organ Mountain, their win bumped their record up to 4-1-1.
Tuesday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Ysleta has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .455.
