Basketball Game Preview: Shawnee Redskins vs. Zeigler-Royalton Tornadoes

Shawnee is 0-7 against Zeigler-Royalton since January of 2019 but things could change on Thursday. The Shawnee Redskins will head out to face off against the Zeigler-Royalton Tornadoes at 6:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Shawnee is headed into Thursday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Saturday. The game between them and Agape Christian didn't end well, with Shawnee falling 68-51.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Kyler Jewell, who dropped a double-double on 26 points and 14 rebounds. That's the most boards he has posted since back in November of 2024. Conner Wilson was another key player, putting up 14 points and five rebounds.

Meanwhile, Zeigler-Royalton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They received a blow as they fell 62-44 to Thompsonville.

Zeigler-Royalton's defeat dropped their record down to 7-15. As for Shawnee, their loss dropped their record down to 2-16.

Things could have been worse for Shawnee, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 74-56 loss to Zeigler-Royalton in their previous matchup back in January of 2024. Can Shawnee avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
