The Hueytown Golden Gophers scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Hartselle 84-40 at home. The win was a breath of fresh air for Hueytown as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.
Braylon Patton continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 25 points. That makes it 14 consecutive games in which he has scored at least 25% of Hueytown's points. The team also got some help courtesy of G'reenie Coleman, who scored 16 points.
Hueytown now has a winning record of 10-9. As for Hartselle, they bumped their record down to 10-10 with that loss, which was their fifth straight on the road.
Hueytown won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Hillcrest at 1:00 p.m. on December 30th. Hillcrest presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Hueytown in Alabama (Hillcrest is ranked 34th, while Hueytown is ranked 93rd). As for Hartselle, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Cullman at 7:30 p.m.
