Baseball Recap: Taft Sets Scoring Season-High Against Holmes

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Taft). They were the clear victor by a 15-1 margin over the Holmes Huskies on Friday. The Raiders might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three matchups by six runs or more this season.

CHRIS ARRIAGA made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out ten over seven innings pitched. ARRIAGA was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-5 with one double and one RBI.

In other batting news, Taft got a massive performance out of SAYBIEN GUZMAN, who went 2-for-5 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. GUZMAN is also on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. ELIJAH BARRERA was another key player, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.

Taft was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .444. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Holmes only posted a batting average of .200.

The win got Taft back to even at 5-5. As for Holmes, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-10.

Taft didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 12-1 victory against Stevens on the 10th. As for Holmes, they have also already played their next contest, a 19-6 loss against Warren on the 11th.
