The Schenevus Central Dragons will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against the Sharon Springs Central Spartans at 5:30 p.m. Schenevus Central will be strutting in after a win while Sharon Springs Central will be coming in after a loss.
Schenevus Central had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They enjoyed a cozy 44-28 victory over Franklin Central back in December of 2023. Schenevus Central pushed the score to 41-21 by the end of the third, a deficit Franklin Central cut but never quite recovered from.
Meanwhile, Sharon Springs Central's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their seventh straight loss. They were beaten by Richfield Springs Central 74-47. Sharon Springs Central was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 44-22.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Lilly Tessier, who scored 19 points. That's the first time this season that she scored 15 or more points. Peyton Fassett was another key contributor, scoring 15 points.
Schenevus Central's victory bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Sharon Springs Central, they dropped their record down to 3-7 with that defeat, which was their third straight on the road.
