The Wetumka Chieftains can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Tuesday. They came out on top against Midway by a score of 53-45. The victory was just what Wetumka needed coming off of a 73-24 loss in their prior contest.
Despite the loss, Midway still got an impressive performance from Tristen Wolfe, who almost dropped a double-double on 30 points and nine rebounds. That was a full 66.7% of Midway's points, marking the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Sam Fowler, who scored two points along with three steals.
Wetumka pushed their record up to 13-10 with that win, which was their third straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.0 points per game. As for Midway, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-12.
Wetumka does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Midway is on the road again on Friday and plays the Warriors at 6:30 p.m. on February 2nd. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Oklahoma (Indianola is ranked 481st, while the Chargers are ranked 476th).
